WEIGHT ALLOWANCES
EPYWL BY-LAW 13C: A weight allowance of one pound will be added to each weight class on the first of each month beginning in January. All scheduled matches which fall in the week of the first of the month (from Monday through Sunday) will receive this allowance.
EXAMPLE: January falls on a Sunday. A dual meet wrestled on Saturday, December 31 will receive this allowance.

WEIGH-INS
EPYWL BY-LAW 13D: Coaches should attempt to have the referee weigh in Varsity and Junior Varsity contestants, AT LEAST one half hour before the meet is scheduled to start. A boy has exactly one half hour to make weight after the official start of weigh-ins. Intentional delay of weigh-ins by either team should be brought to the attention of the official and the league President, as soon as possible.

WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS
EPYWL BY-Law 13E: A boy may wrestle at a weight NO LOWER THAN one weight class BELOW the HIGHEST weight that he had previously wrestled AT ANY TIME DURING THE SEASON. This rule takes precedence over all other weight class rules and applies regardless of his current body weight.

EPYWL BY-LAW 13F: Until the first weight allowance is applied in January, each wrestler is qualified to wrestle at any of the following weight classes, provided rule 13-E is not violated.
1. The weight class of his stripped body weight. or
2. One weight class above his stripped body weight.

EPYWL BY-LAW 13G: Beginning with the January match, at which time the first weight allowance is applied, each wrestler is qualified to wrestle at the following weight classes provided rule 13E is not violated.
1. The weight class of his stripped body weight provided:
a) He has previously wrestled that season at this weight class or at the next lower weight class. or
b) He has the appropriate written weight certification, witnessed by an official and opposing coach, at any sanctioned match, during the normal weigh-in of a “League” December meet, that his stripped body weight qualified him for this weight class.
c) Copies of the weight certifications MUST be mailed to your division statistician along with your match results for that week.
2. One weight class above his stripped body weight.
3. If a boy did not wrestle in a December dual meet, he shall be granted the appropriate weight allowance(s), for the month, when he wrestles in his first dual meet or tournament.

EPYWL BY-LAW 13H: IMPORTANT: An organization permitting a boy to wrestle in violation of any weight class eligibility rule must FORFEIT ALL DUAL MEETS in which a violation occurred. The ineligible boy will lose all points accrued through the violation(s) but the records and seed points of his other team members will not be affected.

EPYWL TOURNAMENT WEIGHT CLASS RULES
EPYWL BY-LAW Addenda 1, RULE 4A: Basic weight classes will be the same as those wrestled during the dual meet season, and will include all monthly weight allowances according to the by-laws.
NOTE: In tournaments that run two successive days, one extra pound is allowed on the second day of the tournament. This applies to both Varsity and JV.

EPYWL BY-LAW Addenda 1, RULE 4B: A boy MUST wrestle at the weight class where he has wrestled AT LEAST 50% of his individual Varsity matches, during the dual meet season, or in a higher weight class because of weight gain. If he has no Varsity matches or has wrestled both Varsity and JV, he must wrestle at the weight class in which he has wrestled AT LEAST 50% of his INDIVIDUAL Varsity and JV matches combined.
EXAMPLES:
1. A boy has wrestled 4 matches at 56 and 3 matches at 52. He must wrestle at 56 pounds or as high as his stripped weight allows.
2. A boy has wrestled 3 matches at 56 and 4 matches at 52. He may wrestle as low as 52, or as high as his stripped weight allows.
3. A boy has wrestled 2 matches at 76 and 2 matches at 80. He may wrestle as low as 76, or as high as his stripped weight allows. This applies for any combination of even amount of bouts such as 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4.
